consumption and7%more efficiency than the
E-seriesmodel it replaces.
The 305.5E2, 305E2, 304E2 and303.5E2
all include a redesignedoperator station
that includes awider opening, ahigh
quality suspension seat, easy to adjust arm
rests and anoverall improved ergonomic
layout. Caterpillar said, anew interlocking
frontwindow system, updatedoperator
interface controls and all pilot controlsmeant
thesemachines offered thebest operator
environment in their class.
TheE2models are equippedwith a
digital control panel designed forCat
compact excavators, the company’sComplete
Operation,Maintenance, Performance, and
SecuritySystem (COMPASS) system. This
includes an anti-theft system, which requires a
five-digit alphanumericpassword to start the
machine, an automatic engine-idle selection
and an adjustable auxiliary-flow control for
work tools.
MinnichManufacturingwill be showcasing
its full lineof dowel pindrills, utilitydrills,
concrete vibrators, and concrete vibrator
monitoring systems atWorldOfConcrete.
Besides standardproducts, the company
will have its dedicatedgas-leakdetectiondrill,
TheHornet, ondisplay. This provides an
innovative and ergonomic alternative tohand
drillinggas-leakdetectionholes in roadways
above gasmains and is designed for useby
municipalities and contractorswhoworkon
municipal projects. TheHornet isolates the
vibration to themachine, whichultimately
minimises operator fatigue. Furthermore,
the operator can stand in anupright position
whiledrilling, whichhelps prevent lower back
injuries.
Alsoon showwill bemachine-mounted
units, like theA-2V andH5, which canbe
mountedon excavator or backhoe loader
booms for dowel pindrillwork in repair and
patchingoperations.

also for general construction applications.
So far aheadof the event, obtaining
informationon specific exhibits is somewhat
problematic sincemany companieswant to
keep thewraps on their exhibits untilmuch
closer to the show.
However, some information is available
andof particular interest todemolition
contractors in attendancewill beBrokk’s
upgraded versionof itsBrokk400 remote-
controlled electricdemolitionmachine.
New features include a larger undercarriage
for heavy-dutywork and enhanced stability
whenoperatingwithheavy attachments. The
hydraulic systemhas alsobeen improved for
greater efficiency andmore consistent power.
Thenewmodel canhandle attachments
up to645kg (1,420 lbs) and it has ahydraulic
quick-hitch system for fast changes. The
boom is a three-piecedesignoffering6.7m
(22 ft) of horizontal reach and7.3m (24 ft) of
vertical reach. Itweighs in at 5.1 tonnes and
is 1.6m (5.3 ft)wide and2m (6.6 ft) inches
tall, which is slightlybigger than themodel it
replaces.However, Brokk says this stillmakes
it compact enough towork inmany combined
spaces.
