Route to self-sufficiency
Wimbledon. London, basedNJB recycling operates a skip and waste recycling operation,
withmaterial brought from around London by its own skip lorries as well as other waste
that is brought to its site by other companies. In order to process the waste, the company
has now invested in its own crusher in the shape of a Rubblemaster RM60 unit.
The company already has its own on-site screening capability that it has been using to
consistently recycle 75% of the waste that it processes. Jamie Bowie, the owner of NJB,
looked into owning his own crusher rather than hiring in a crusher to recycle waste. “The
advantages of owning your own crushermean that we can react to work flow variations in
demand and supply of hardcore very quickly. We looked at several different crushers that
might suit our requirements and eventually decided the RM60was ideal for our needs. It is
compact and well built, and yet easily produces 50 tonnes per hour of crushedMOT Type 1
hardcore.”
