CRUSHING
EQUIPMENT
D&Ri
reports on the latest in
mobile crushing equipment
A
chievinggreater levels of efficiency
andoperating reliability remain
among the keydrivers in the
crushing and screening equipment sector.
Just like the general construction equipment
sector, crushermanufacturers haves also
had towrestlewithmeeting the latest engine
emission regulations, resulting inother new
models appearing thatmeet this need.
In addition, newmachines are appearing
thatmeet the less demandingneeds of regions
of theworld that have yet toput emissions
regulations frameworks inplace andwhere
customers areunwilling to incur the costs
involved in acquiring the latestmore complex
machineswhile requiringproductive and
reliable solutions.
AsMikaelDelbrant, vicepresident of
Sandvik’s crushing and screeningdivision
explained, another key factor has been in
devisingproducts that respond to expanding
health and safety regulations.
This has included environmental impact
analysis of Sandvik’s overall business
practices, includingdeveloping emissions-
conscious equipment and improving its
recyclingpolicy.
MrDelbrant said: “Wehave seen an
increasedglobal focus on environmental
health and safety. Togetherwith the feedback
we receive fromour customers, wehave
developed several newproducts (including
theCH500 series of cone crushers) andmade
improvements toour existingproducts in
order to reduce our environmental footprint,
improve safety and ergonomics for the
users, better performance andqualityof
the endproduct, togetherwith less energy
consumption.”
MEETINGDEMANDS
Precision and efficiency are key to Irock’s
latest crusher, theTC-20, whichmade its
debut at theConexpo industry event inLas
Vegas. Combining a larger feeder and ahigh
performance four-bar impactor, the company
said it produces auniform, cubical product,
withhydraulically adjustable aprons providing
added control over sizing. According to
Irock, its has the versatility toprocess soft to
medium rock, recycled concrete and recycled
asphalt.
The crusher’s rotormeasures 1x1.4m (3.3
x4.6 ft) and canprocess a varietyofmaterials
up to0.6m (2 ft) indiameter. A328kW (440
hp)CaterpillarC-13ACERTTier 3 engine
powers themachine, whichhas amaximum
throughput of 500 tph.
Consistent product development in terms
of flexibledesign andoperational readiness is
an approach that Rockster says it has applied
to its rangeof crushers –with itsR1100DSno
exception.
Featuring itsmulti-functiondisplay the
machine’s crushinggap canbe adjusted fully
hydraulically and continuously, so the final

Shanghai debut for
Shanbaomobiles
A new full range of mobile (tracked and wheeled) crushing and screening plants are now
available from Shanbao, the brand name used by Shanghai Jianshe LuqiaoMachines,
which is 80% owned by Sandvik. According to the company, it has designed a full range
of tracked, wheeled andmodular units to include primary, secondary and tertiary crushing
and screening equipment. Each is designed with operator safety inmind and the company
said that maintenance and safety are of the upmost concern in its design process. Daily
service points are located on themachines with ground level access.
Shanbao wheeled units are designed for all on-road transport conditions. The design
uses an easy setup configuration, with trailer and container concepts using a standard
primemover. In transport mode, each unit complies with transport height and width
restrictions. Once on site, setup can be achieved within two hours, allowing a quick
deployment time. One design highlight of the
wheeled units is the ability to remove the
trailer wheel-set from the frame for use on
other wheeledmobile units.
Shanbao now offers a full range of tracked and
wheeled crushers and screens
