Sandvik will have a new Rammer breaker
on show on its stand – the 5011 intended
from carriers weighing from 43 to 88 tonne
class that weighs 4,750 kg (10,470 lb) and
effectively completes the company’s Heavy
breaker product line.
For Volvo, the latest generation Stage IV
variants of its construction equipment will
be the main focus of its Hillhead presence,
one of which will be its latest EC380E tracked
excavator powered by a Volvo D13 diesel
delivering 225 kW (306 hp). According
to the company, it delivers high digging
and breakout forces together with reduced
emissions and a 9% improvement in fuel
efficiency.
For those that attended in 2010, memories
will go back to the effects of the coincidence
of the show with the 2010 World Cup soccer
tournament. The Tuesday, the first day of
this year’s show, sees England take on Costa
Rica. Hopeully it will not adversely impact the
atmosphere in the ‘hole in the ground’ since
the match kicks off at 5.00 pm UK time - will
visitors leave early or watch at the show?
