U
K contractor Squibb Group has
recently invested in LiuGong
excavators and wheeled loaders
supplied by Construction Plant & Machinery
Sales, Portsmouth-based UK dealer for
LiuGong equipment. The order follows on
from the success of two LiuGong units that
joined the Squibb Group fleet early in 2013,
which have proved to be extremely reliable in
the demolition environment.
The latest additions include eight LiuGong
hydraulic excavators, comprising two 22
tonne CLG922LCIIIs powered by a 105.6 kW
(142 hp) Cummins diesel and five 25.5 tonne
CLG925LCIIIs powered by a 125 kW (175 hp)
Cummins engine. The largest excavator in this
order is for a 37.6 tonne CLG936LC powered
in turn by a 186 kW (253 hp) Cummins
engine. Also included in the order are two
CLG856III wheeled loaders.

Link-Belt introduces
management system
as standard
With effect from the beginning of April, all Link-Belt excavators are supplied with
a combined telematics/GPS system called RemoteCARE. This will provide users
with machine utilisation and operational data in addition to 24-hour surveillance and
geo-fencing capabilities. Operating data can be scheduled on a daily, weekly, monthly
or yearly basis to allow owners to better manage their work requirements and asset
investments, says LBX.
The system tracks and records both routine and major service intervals for the
individual machine and transmits this data to the dealer to ensure that all parts and
consumables required for any service
are accounted for prior to the machine’s
arrival. It also provides alerts for possible
failure conditions as they arise, with a
warning displayed on the cab display and
an email alert sent direct to the dealer.
In addition, it offers a number of
security features that protect the
machine from damage or theft. The
machine’s location can be mapped using
the internet and a working area can be
designated such that an alarm is issued
should the machine move beyond the
boundaries and the system switches into
a tracking mode to allow the machine to
be traced. Available on all new machines,
it can also be retrofitted to any X3
model, and a three year subscription
comes at no additional cost to the user.
All new LBX tracked excavators will now
come with RemoteCARE and the system can be
retrofitted to older X3 models
The 3.8 tonne EZ38 is the latest generation zero
tail swing compact excavator from Wacker Neuson.
It is available with up to three auxiliary control
circuits to allow connection options for a variety
of attachments to provide greater flexibility
for contractors. The manifold block features an
additional section, allowing circuits II and III to be
retrofitted with minimum effort.
The machine features a spacious and
ergonomically designed cab for maximum comfort
and productivity. The cab itself can be removed by
undoing four screws to allow the machine to pass
under low hanging obstructions.

to fleet
The five CLG925CIII excavators have been modified to withstand the rigours of the demolition sector
modified to meet the demolition specification
required by Squibb Group, including heavy
duty ram guards on the bucket cylinder, ram
and check valve protection plates on the
boom lift rams, full FOPS cab cage, side skirt
impact protection, 'boxing ring' fall from
height protection barriers, flashing beacons,
including green seat belt light, and a rear view
camera system.
Talking about the order, Squibb Group
managing director Les Squibb said, “We
bought two LiuGong excavators in
February 2013 to run alongside our
existing fleet of machines supplied by
Komatsu, Volvo, Liebherr and Hitachi.
The LiuGong units have proven to be ideal
for the tough demolition environment, they
are built of tougher fabric than the machines
we currently run and are powerful and
reliable.”
