ICUEE SHOW GUIDE
Utility expo
ICUEE, Oct. 1-3 in Louisville, is on track to break attendee
and exhibitor records.

CUEE organizers are expecting the 2013
show, Oct. 1-3 in Louisville, KY, to be one
of the best ever. Sara Truesdale Mooney,
ICUEE’s show director, says the event will be the
largest since 2007. More than 800 exhibitors are
expected to show their products, which
ALH
has
learned include new units from Bronto Skylift,
Elliott Equipment Co. and more.
ICUEE also offers hands-on equipment
demonstrations, where attendees can test-
drive equipment in job-like conditions. Show
organizers are estimating around 16,000
attendees will attend this year’s show, which
sold 1 million net square feet of exhibit space 11
months before the show’s kickoff.
“Attendees highly rate the show’s exhibits,
demos and education, but they also tell us an
invaluable benefit of ICUEE is the opportunity
to get recharged and re-energized: meet with
their industry peers face-to-face and see what’s
new,” says Truesdale Mooney.
The 'inside look'
New for 2013 is ICUEE’s indoor Exhibitor
Demo Stage where attendees will have more
opportunities for a first-hand look at new
technologies in action. Show management
developed the indoor program in response to
attendee feedback for more demo/educational
options: 90 percent of utilities and utility
contractors in a recent show survey said that
demonstrations at ICUEE affect their decision
to attend, and 84 percent said that product
demonstration opportunities and operating
equipment influence their buying decisions,
according to Truesdale Mooney.
The ICUEE Exhibitor Demo Stage will run
during show days and exhibitors will offer
20-minute educational and interactive segments
that highlight the performance or merits of
a product/service in actual use or simulated
situation. A moderator will host the sessions,
introducing each segment and facilitating
questions and answers. As for products, here’s
what attendees can expect.
Bronto Skylift (N2054)
is showing a new
machine with “huge capacity like that of a
material handler,” the company says. The S-230
XDT is a telescoping and articulating aerial work
platform with a 2,000-pound capacity boom-
mounted material handler. The unit is ideal for
utilities and other applications that need to lift
both people and materials overhead and features
a 225-foot platform height, 100-foot horizontal
outreach, a 93-inch by 36-inch platform with a
1,500-pound capacity and, lastly, 360 degrees
of continuous platform rotation.
Elliott Equipment Company (L435)
will be
displaying a range of aerial work platforms.
The equipment lineup includes long-reach
cranes and aerial work platforms, track-
mounted cranes for off-road applications, and
multifunctional products designed to boost
jobsite efficiency and performance.
The Elliott Equipment booth will include aerial
work platforms with working heights to 215 feet
plus more. Some of the product updates and
solutions that will be unveiled at the ICUEE show
include the H110F HiReach aerial work platform
offering 115 feet of working height, a 1,000-
pound jib winch, and a 14,000-pound boom
winch, with a new hydraulic intensifier system
in the work platform for crimping applications
