Collisionavoidance systems are another
device that crane companiesuse tohelp
keepworkers safebypreventing crane
collisions. The latest equipment from
manufacturer SMIE is theProSite system.
It has anLED touch screendisplay, sensor
technology for slew, trolleyandhoist
movements andup to three anti-collision
radionetworks.Also fromSMIE is the
ProSITE siteglobalmanagement software
for jobsitemanagement. Functions include
real timedataof global cranemovement,
weather and crane activityhistoryand
remoteby-passof anti-collision function.
A spokesperson fromSMIE says, “The
benefits [of theseproducts] are safeusageof
multiple craneson site and theprotection
of surroundingobstacles suchasbuildings,
railways andpower lines.”
