bauma China, Asia’s
biggest exhibition, is to stay at
its current site, the Shanghai
New International Expo Centre
(SNIEC), for the foreseeable
future. There were rumours
at bauma China 2014 that
the exhibition wouldmove
for the next event in 2016.
These were denounced by the
organisers, who confirmed
that the 2016 event would
take place at the same site in
Shanghai between November
22 and 25, 2016.

A Bangkok court has
ordered the demolition of the
25 storey Aetas Bangkok
Hotel after a six year wrangle.
The building was allowed to be
constructed in an area of the
city where the height limit for
new structures is 23m (75
ft) or 7 or 8 storeys.

US nuclear
decommissioning
partnership established
With the stated aimof providing
US customerswith a single
contractinggroup tomanage and
deliver nuclear decontamination
anddecommissioning, industry
giantsBechtel andWestinghouse
ElectricCompanyhave
announced the formation a
partnershipbetween the two that
bringsmore than100 years of
industry experience.
In a statement,Michael
Graham, generalmanager of
Bechtel’s global environmental
business, said: “Customers
can trust that Bechtel and
Westinghousewill provide
integrated services and solutions
to safelydecommission,
decontaminate anddismantle a
power plant andprepare the site
for other uses.
Hewent on: “In theUnited
States, the average ageof
commercial reactors is some 33
years, andmany are approaching
the endof their licensingperiods.
Together, these two companies
have the resources, experience
and expertise todeliver the safest
and cleanest decommissioning
projects.”
Also in the statement,
MarkMarano,Westinghouse
president, Americas said:
“Westinghouse is pleased to
joinwithBechtel tobring
about themost fully-integrated
rangeof decontamination and
decommissioning services
available to theUSnuclear
energymarket. Thedeployment
of consolidated, proven
technologies andprocesses from

allowing the opportunity to
return the land touseable
property.”
Thepartnership is expected
toprovide a full range service
frompre-shutdownplanning,
licensing, project development
andmanagement, dismantling,
demolition, wastehandling, and
site closeout.

JCB is to introduce a range of site
dumperswithweights from 1 to 10
tonnes. Initially, theywill only be
available in the UK, but the plan is
for the rangewill be introduced into
other regions in the near future,
said the company. It is based around
fourweight classes: compact 1 and
2 tonnes, 3 to 3.5 tonnes, 6 tonnes
and 9-10 tonnes. High tip, forward
tip and swivel skipmodelswill
be available, with engine powers
ranging from 15.5 to 90 kW (20
to 12 hp) and both syncro-shuttle
transmissions are available to
provide ease of use andmaximum
travel speeds.
