COMPACT LOADERS
The 3.4 litre engine claims to deliver torque
of 383Nm at a low engine speed of only 1,400
rpm, and with a 13% increase in pushing
power.
SOLAR FARM INDUSTRY
The compact loader is the ideal option in
many situations. At Bobcat, Chattaway cited
the solar farm industry, where he claimed
the compact tracked loader had become a
staple product both through rental and direct
purchase.
“The CTL’s clear advantage is working on
slopes,” he said. “This is key to working in
this industry and has opened up thinking
about other applications where site access is
restricted.
“The larger CTL’s drive capacity, as well
as its smooth and stable operation has
also helped with innovative changes in the
compact grading and levelling market,” said
Chattaway. “These contractors use Bobcat’s
fully-integrated approach of machine,
attachment and laser guiding to achieve
levels of accuracy that haven’t been found
before on small works or inside buildings
where larger graders cannot gain access or
are not economical to use.”
He added that Bobcat’s Selectable Joystick
Controls (SJC) were preferred by customers in
this industry “because of the smooth control
and range of adjustments available”.
Applications are also opening up for the CTL
and attachment combination in road and rail
maintenance where previously larger more
dedicated machinery needed to be specified,
he said.
Bobcat’s current range of CTLs cover the
tipping load range from 1,440kg to 4,300kg,
with engines from 31kW to 74kW across five
base models. This includes an additional
compact unit under development.
