“Work platforms in the 40 m working height range
are gaining in popularity with rental companies
because mobile telecommunication providers are
expanding their LTE transmission networks,” said a
company spokesman.
“These networks will eventually need to be
maintained and serviced. In order to reach the
majority of LTE towers with the greatest degree of
efficiency, mobile network operators often choose
truck-mounted work platforms in the 40 m working
height range.” Sales of the model are already
underway.
Omme Lift hybrid
Danish manufacturer Omme Lift is adding a new
lightweight 42 m hybrid tracked boom lift.
The new 4200 RBDJ comes with a seven-section
telescopic boom, offering a working
height of 42 m and an outreach
of up to 15.2m, making it the
manufacturer’s largest machine.
Omme officially launches the 4200
RBDJ at APEX and expects to ship the
first units from its factory in Denmark
in the third quarter of this year.
The 4200 RBDJ comes with a 130°
articulating jib. The boom can be
raised and extended simultaneously,
while auto-levelling outrigger deployment and
retraction comes as standard.
The diesel/battery hybrid drive train means
that the 4200 RBDJ can be used in outdoor and
indoor environments. The 400Ah battery pack is
automatically recharged whenever the diesel engine
is deployed, which eliminates any ‘voltage drop’
issue.
The boom is mounted on a two-gear crawler
undercarriage designed to traverse hilly or uneven
terrain.
Mast extension
French manufacturer ATN will
launch a new vertical mast in its
PIAF range at APEX. It follows the
latest model, the PIAF 1100R,
launched last year. It offers a
combination of 11 m working
height and a 3.74 m horizontal
outreach, says the company. ATN’s
Elisabet Torras Xalma adds, “This
machine is innovative thanks to its
100% hydraulic system, reducing maintenance to
minimum requirements.”
The company is now developing more mast
booms, this time smaller than the PIAF range. ATN
is also working on a compact boom with 7.5 m
working height, 80 cm width.
