T
he three-day show at the Amsterdam
RAI Exhibition Centre in the
Netherlands, 24-26 June, this year will
break records for exhibitor numbers and space.
More than 100 exhibitors from all over the
world, including China, have already confirmed
their stand space and will demonstrate their
products and services in a live environment. It
will feature an inside exhibition area of 11000
square metres - a substantial increase from
the 10000 square metres at the last APEX
show, held at MECC Maastricht in 2011.
The outside area will be 10000 square metres,
almost double the size of the outside area at the
last edition.
The three-day event will serve as an
important platform for networking, knowledge
sharing, and shaping the industry’s future.
“We can already say that APEX 2014 will be
the biggest international access industry fair
anywhere in the world,” said Tony Kenter,
managing director of show organiser Industrial
Promotions International (IPI).
“Amsterdam is becoming the new capital
of the access industry, and is the perfect
international setting with cosmopolitan flair.
APEX is the showcase for all companies in the
international access business, and will be the
world’s largest ever access exhibition in 2014 –
A taste of things to come
Bronto 47 m truck mount
Finland-based Bronto Skylift will extend its XR
truck mount range when it launches a 47 m model
at APEX.
The S 47 XR will follow on from the first two
models in the XR range; the S56XR and S65XR
launched at bauma last year, and are an evolution
of Bronto’s longstanding XDT range.
As well as a 47 m working height, the model will
include a 28 m outreach and cage capacity of 700
kg. Transport height is 3.6 m, while transport length
is 9.9 m. The boom has a 540 degree rotation, while
the cage is capable of 2 x 90 degree rotation.
The XR range shares a number of features,
including 20% more working height than previous
models, 15% additional outreach and 35% extra
working envelope. They also provide 15 m up and
over capabilities, independent movement of the
manufacturer’s Sky-Jib and its B+ Geometric
Control system which ensures accurate and safe
control in all conditions.
“There was a clear demand for machines which
could do more for less: reach higher and further and
yet reduce the costs and increase the profits of the
customer,” said a company spokesman, “All this
meant focusing on the running costs of the machines
and resulted in a completely new design with less
weight, lower fuel consumption and more envelope
coverage per GVW tonne. It’s called XR range -
machines with eXtreme Reach.”
Ruthmann extends range
Ruthmann will add two more models to its Height
Performance Steiger truck mount range this year.
The first will be the 40 m Steiger T 400, making
its debut at the APEX exhibition in June. The second
is yet to be announced.
The Steiger T 400 complements the existing 46
m Steiger T 460 and shares the same technical
features with other models in the range.
