A new live-action crane safety
video and extensively revised
crane safetymanual from
theAssociation of Equipment
Manufacturers (AEM) provide
machine operatorswith awell-
rounded look at current industry
best practices, includingU.S.
OSHA1926:1400 crane
standard requirements. The
video andmanual outline tips
on how to avoid accidents and
create a safe construction
site, prepare themachine
for operation and reduce
repair costs, and prepare the
construction site for oversll safe
crane operation.

The SC&RA2014 Facebook
Photo Contest has drawn to
a close. Over the last 12
months the SC&RA received
260 submissions, awarding
28winners. Next yesr’s
contest beginswith January’s
theme: signal persons.The
competition is open to

One of the largest rental
equipment companies
of eastern Saudi Arabia,
Expertise Industrial Services
of Jubail, recently took delivery
of a new Link-Belt RTC-8050
Series II 50-ton rough terrain
crane. The purchasewas
made fromBakheet Co. for
Machinery, the Link-Belt dealer
in Saudi Arabia.Mohammed
Ashif, Expertise CEO, was
present as the cranewas
officially handed over. Expertise
Industrial Services is a
provider of industrial support
services to the petrochemical
and construction industries in
Saudi Arabia.
Manitex International has
completed the formation of its
Joint Venturewith Terex Corp.,
and has become themajority
owner of ASV. As a result of
the transaction,Manitex now
owns 51 percent of ASV and
Terex owns 49 percent. ASV
manufactures and sells a line
of high quality compact track
and skid steer loaders. Trailing
12months sales for ASV,
Inc. were approximately $130
million.
M-LHoldings Crane Group
announced they purchased five
Terex all-terrain cranes: three
AC250-1 all-terrain cranes,
one AC100-4L all-terrain crane
and one Terex Explorer 5600
all-terrain crane. The addition
of the five Terex all-terrain
craneswill help serve the
West Texasmarkets.Marks
Crane &Rigging in Lubbock, TX
will add one AC250-1AT and
the Explorer 5600 all-terrain
crane to their fleet.
Bauma China visitors
increase 8 percent
Visitornumbers for lastweek’s
BaumaChina exhibition
wereup8percent to191,000
peopledespite theon-going
downturn in theChinese
construction equipment
market. Theprevious event,
held inNovember 2012
attracted180,000visitors.
BaumaChina2014was
held fromNov. 25-28 at the
ShanghaiNew International
ExpoCentre (SNIEC) in
Shanghai, China. Itwas the
seventh time the showhas
beenheld, following its launch
in2002.
According toorganizer,
MesseMünchen, the191,000
visitors came from149
different countries, and the
number of international
visitorswas up12percent.
AfterChina, the top tenvisitor
countries and regions abroad
wereRussia, Korea, Japan,
India,Malaysia, Thailand,
Singapore, Taiwan,Hong
Kong and Indonesia– in that
order.
BaumaChinaonce again
filled all the available
exhibition space– a total
of 300,000 squaremeters.
This year’s show featured
3,104 exhibitors from41
countries, compared to2,718
exhibitors from38 countries
in2012. Some 2,097 exhibitor
companieswere fromChina.
The remaining1,007were
fromoverseas.
