test) at the endof 2014.

director, said it is believed
tobe thehighest capacity
twin tower lifting system in
theworld.
Providing the liftingpower
are four strand jacks, each
rated at 1,394 tonnes capacity.
These are alsobelieved tobe
a record size,Dyer added.
The tower system can erect
anddismantle itselfwithout
extra equipment and it canbe
moved along a ground level
trackwith a suspended load,
themanufacturer said.

LiebherrContainerCranes
has received several orders for
its rubber tyre gantry (RTG)
cranes that aredesigned to
haveminimal negative impact
on the environment.
The first of the orders
comes fromDPWorldAsian
Terminals for fiveunits at
itsManila facility in the
Philippines. The order follows
on from thedeliveryof two
RTGs commissioned for the
port earlier in2014. The
RTGs stack1over 6high-cube
containers andhave a safe
working loadof 41 tonnes
under spreader and span six
containerswide and a truck
lane, themanufacturer said.
They are fittedwith an
eco-friendly variable speed
drive for reduced emissions
and fuel consumption and
have auto-steering. The cranes
aredue for delivery in2015. A
further eight electricRTGswill
bedelivered toPortoChibatão
inManaus, Brazil.
