TheT450 ispoweredbyaBobcatD24
45.5kW (61hp) turbochargeddiesel engine
that provides 25%morepower than the
T140model andmeets the current Stage IIIB
emission requirements through theuseof
cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and
diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) after-treatment
technologies,withnodiesel particulate filter
(DPF).
Highproductivity results from the
increasedpressureof thehydraulic system that
provides increasedattachment performance–
theT450 canbematchedwithover 80different
attachments and thereare rearhydraulic
auxiliaryand7-pinACD connectoroptions
available. It is equippedas standardwith the
quick-changeBob-Tachattachmentmounting
frame. However, customers can choose the
optional PowerBob-Tach system to change
non-hydraulic attachments simplyby flippinga
switch inside the cab.
Equippedwith radial lift boomarms, the
ratedoperating capacityof theT450has also
increased from642kg (1,412.5 lb) to665kg
(1,463 lb),while theoperatingweight hasbeen
reduced from2,990kg (6,578 lb) to2789kg
(6,135.8 lb). Thanks to its compact dimensions
and lowerweight, theT450 is even easier to
transport ona trailer towedbya light truck, 4x
4or all-terrainvehicle.
Alsonewwill be theTL3586m (19.7 ft)
compact telehandlerwithawidthof just 2.1m
(6.9 ft) toallow it toaccess confined sites and
buildings. Thenewmachine features a74.5
kW (64hp)diesel and canbe suppliedwith
an elevated cab toprovide increasedoperator
visibility.
Finally, twonew telescopichandlers
aimed firmlyat the rental sector, the13m
(42.7 ft)T35130Sand14m (45.9 ft)T35140S,
Mecalac said itwould have its new12MTX on show–a
versatile 9.7 tonnemachine can act as an excavator, a
loader, a forklift and a tool carrier

amaximum2.5 tonne lifting capacityand
hydrostatic transmission,will alsobeon show,
togetherwith its latest rotating telescopic
handler, theMRT3255. Thismachinehas a5.5
tonne capacityandamaximum liftingheight
of 31.6m (103.7 ft).Machines fromManitou’s
sisterbrandMustangwill alsobeon the stand,
including threenewmid-sized skid steers–
the1350R, 1500R&1650R,withoperating
capacities ranging from600 to800kg (1,320 to
1,760 lb).
Meanwhile,Mecalac said itwouldhave
itsnew12MTXon show–anarticulated9.7
tonnemachine that canact as an excavator,
a loader, a forklift or a tool carrier thanks
to its innovativeboomandhydraulicquick
coupler. Itwill alsopresent itsnewAS1600
swing loader at the show,which is an11 tonne
classmachinewith four-wheel steering that
can load toaheight of 3.4m (11.2 ft)witha
turning radiusof 4.4m (14.5 ft). Several bucket
will beon show. The formerhas amaximum
lift height of 12.6m (41.4 ft) andamaximum
forward reachof 8.6m (28.2 ft and the latter
has amaximum lift height of 13.6m (44.6 ft)
andamaximum forward reachof 9.8m
(32.2 ft).
Despite their simplerdesign tomeet rental
needs, Bobcat said that they still offermany
of theadvantagesof thenewgeneration
handlers from the company, including
protected sensitiveparts, and safeand intuitive
