New inKomatsu’sdozer rangeat Intermat
will be theD65-18,which is available in three
undercarriagevariants– standard (EX), low
groundpressure (PX) andwide (WX). Theunit
weighs inat 20.5 to24.9 tonnesdependingon
configuration, andpower comes fromaStage
IV162kW (217hp)Komatsu engine. The
new transmission features a lock-up torque
converter that the company said can reduce
fuel consumptionby10%, and this canbe set
to either automaticormanualmode.
The standardblade isKomatsu’s sigmadozer
design,which is said to improveperformance
andproductivitybyup to15% compared to
conventional designs.A six-wayPowerAngle
Tilt (PAT) blade is availableas anoption.
Furtherup theweight range is thenew264
kW (354hp) Stage IV-enginedD155AX-8
dozer,whichweights 38 to43 tonnes,
dependingon configuration.Again, the
sigmadozerblade is standard forup to15%
moreproductionover conventional blades and
the transmissionalso features the fuel-saving
lock-up torque converter.
