ITC goes
to London
The fourth International Tower
Cranes (ITC) conferencewill be
held in LondonMay 27-28. The
event will include presentations
on tower crane innovations,
rental trends, project reports
and safety issues.
Organized by
International
Cranes and Specialized
Transport (ICST)
and
American
Cranes and Transport (ACT)
,
the conferencewill be held at
theMillenniumGloucester hotel
in Kensington, London, UK,
startingwith a reception on the
evening of May 27 followed by
a full-day conference program
on the 28th. ITCwasmost
recently held in Berlin in
November 2013, attracting
almost 150 delegates from
23 countriesworldwide.

RS19-2, the local reference
standard for cranes and

are the technical details for
the tests and inspections that
must be satisfied toobtaina
permit (certification) and the
operationdetails concerning
how to safely runa crane,
derrickand related equipment.
NYCBuildings is seeking
commentsduring these
sessions toassist it indrafting
proposedamendments to the
standard that:

and international standards
for cranes andderricks.

AdoptHigh-Risk
ConstructionOversight
Study recommendations
pertaining to cranes and
derricks.
■
Incorporate the latest
technologyandbest
practices.
RS19-2was among rules
promulgatedunder the1968
NewYorkCityBuilding
Code.When that codewas
replacedby theNewYork
CityConstructionCodes
in2008, rules and reference
standardspromulgatedunder
the1968BuildingCode
remained in effect unless they
were specifically repealed
or conflictedwith thenew
codes.NYCBuildings’ efforts
topropose amendments
toRS19-2arepart of the
ongoingprocessof reviewing
rules and reference standards
from the1968BuildingCode
and repealing, republishing
revising themasnew rules
under theNewYorkCity
ConstructionCodes.
