estimates
of the regional companies, which is what
we make a balance of. There used to be
only one or two players a few years ago,
but now there are more companies and
increased competition.”
In third place on the
TC
50
is All
Erection, which also saw a decrease in its
tower crane index from last year’s 36,705
to this year’s 29,350. AmQuip has 90 tower
cranes in its fleet.
In terms of our top five tower crane
owning rental companies, the numbers
are slightly different. Morrow Equipment
is at first with 519, followed by Coast
Crane/Essex Crane Rental’s 109 units, All
Erection’s 90 units, AmQuip’s 86 units and
lastly Maxim Crane Works’ 78.
When we look to rank companies by
the largest tower crane they own, the
order of business sways even further. At
the top of that list is JayDee Contractors
with its giant Kroll 1800. Right below, in
second place, is Morrow Equipment with
its Liebherr 1800 C. Two Comedil CTL
630s are next in line in terms of size, and
these big boys reside with Oxford Builders
Supply and Allegiance Crane & Rental.
