Hareket engineersmanufactured two
28.5mbeams to transfer theweight.

four points, using eight 6x1.5mx0.4m
load spreaders on the trailers.

Kocaeli, Turkey, with thehelp
of transport and lifting services
providerHareket.
The twoLiebhherr craneswere
transported toEvyapport fromDerince
Port inTurkey. Theywere 117metres
high, 28mwide and79m long andhad
a transportweight of 1,256 tonnes. Itwas
oneof the largest transportationprojects
inTurkey, a spokesperson said.
The cranes arrived atDerinceport by
vessel in sections andwere assembled
by theport’smechanical and electrical
contractorPortunus atDerincePort before
theywere shipped toEvyapport. For the
assemblyof the cranes,Hareket supplied a
600 tonne capacityTerexCC2800 lattice
boom crawler crane, a 300 tonne capacity
TerexCC1800 crawler crane, pluswheeled
mobile telescopic cranes as follows:
a 300 tonne capacityLiebherr LTM1300
and a 60 tonne capacityLiebherr
LTM1160. It took threemonths to
assemble theport cranes.
Once the cranes hadbeen assembled,
theyweremovedonto a 90m longbarge
usingGoldhoferPST-SL/E electronic
steering self propelledmodular transporter

As thebargewas only27mwide, the
crane’s bogies remainedoutside the edge
of the bargeonce loaded. As a result, eight
steel supportswere installedunder the
28.5mbeam to takehalf theweight of the
loadwhile the remainingweight of the
port cranewas placedon the trailer.
The totalweight of the load, including
beam and load spreader, was 1,384 tonnes.
Total grossweight of the transport load,
including the trailers, was 1,614 tonnes.
The axle line loadwas 33.6 tonnes.
On arrival at EvyapPort, the cranes
weremovedoff thebarge in a roll-off
operationbeforebeing turned90degrees.
Theport cranewas thenmanoeuvred into
its final positionusing theGoldhofer
PST-SL/E and then liftedonto rails.
