Sessions from day one sparked
discussion on the need to recruit more
women in the heavy lifting sector and
ways for the industry to attract a new
generation of young people into the crane
and heavy transport sector.
Day two of the event included
presentations on preventing transport
accidents and a discussion on EN 13000.
Chinese manufactures also presented on
developments and trends in the country.
The two day programme also
included coverage on three challenging
projects completed by lifting and
specialized transport companies ALE,
Mammoet and Precision.

he World Crane and Transport
Summit two-day conference and
gala dinner was held at the Hotel
Krasnapolsky in central Amsterdam on 29
and 30 October 2013. The event offered
a range of presentations to help generate
debate on key issues facing the lifting and
project transport industry worldwide.
Presentations at this year’s event
included talks on critical issues facing the
global cranes and heavy transport industry
and the importance of implementing
workable global standards.
