Two new excavators
fromKomatsu
A
ccording toKomatsu, its latest 25
tonne class tracked excavator, the
Stage IV compliant PC240-11, features
amore environmentally friendlyKomatsu
engine, up to6% improved fuel efficiency,
anupgraded cabdesign and enhanced
serviceability. Productivity ismaximised and
operating costs are reduced, said the company.
TheKomatsu engine integrates Selective
CatalystReduction (SCR) to further reduce
NOx emissionsusing theAdBlue additive.
With an advanced electronic control system
thatmanages the air-flow rate, fuel injection,
combustionparameters and after treatment
functions, the engineoptimises performance,
reduces emissions, andprovides advanced
diagnostic capability.Customers benefit
from lower fuel consumptionwithno loss
of performance.Komatsuuses aKomatsu
VariableGeometryTurbocharger (KVGT)
and anExhaustGasRecirculation (EGR) valve
forprecise temperature and airmanagement
control and for longer component life.
Thehydraulic systemon themachine
uses a closed centre load sensinghydraulic
system that featuresVariableSpeedMatching
technology. This allows the engine speed to
adjust basedon thehydraulicpumpoutput
for both light andheavy-duty applications.
Additional enhancementshavebeenmade
within thehydraulic system to reduce
hydraulic loss, resulting inbetter efficiency.
The secondnewmachine, the8.5-8.8 tonne
PC88MR-10, is aStage IIIB compliant reduced
radius tail swingunit that also features
improved efficiency, lower fuel consumption,
improvedoperator comfort and enhanced
serviceability. It bridges the gapbetween
compact and full sized excavators and can
work in awide varietyof applications.
