the various national associations is
kicking intogear, with at least three taking
placeover the course of thenext twomonths.

GOING ARMOURED
First to the startingblocks is theUK’s
InstituteofDemolitionEngineers, whoonce
again returns to theRoyalArmouries venue
inLeeds for its annual SpringSeminar on
February27, 2015. Long a favourite venue
for the Institute, theArmourieswill see a
full speakers’ programme at this, oneof the
UK industry’smost popular demolition

PACKED PROGRAMME
The IDE’s eventwill be closely followed (the
endof the followingweek) by theDeutscher
Abbruchverband’sBerlinDemolition
Conference.OriginallyorganisedbyDoctor
DieterKorthofAsco, the event is now fully
thepremiere event in theDA’s calendar and is
also arguably the best attendof all the similar
days held around theworld, withdelegates
exceeding700 at last year’s recordbreaking
outing. The venuewill once againbe theHotel
InterContinental, onFriday6 andSaturday
7March, 2015. Some 20paperswillmakeup
the event, covering topics such as reports of
major projects undertaken in recentmonths,
recycling issues, environmental considerations
and legislative factors.
Anewwebsite inGerman andEnglish
has been created specifically for the event,
whichhas full informationon the 2015 event
and allows online registration to the event as
well as the full conferenceprogramme.
Details of previous conferences are also
available on the site. To access theEnglish

conference.com. Simultaneous translation
intoEnglish andFrenchwill be a featureof
theday. In addition, therewill be table-top
displays by some 80 relevant suppliers to the
industry.
The ‘dialogue evening’ at theAltePumpe
onFridaywill provide all attendeeswith an
excellent opportunity to consolidate existing
contacts andmakenewones in an informal
atmosphere. Saturdaywill see site visits to
demolitionprojects of interest currently
underway in theBerlin area.
NASHVILLE HIGHLIGHT
TheNationalDemolitionAssociation’s
Annual Conventionmakes up the third
association event of the first quarter of the
year, onMarch22 throughMarch24, at the
GaylordOpryResort inNashville, Tennessee.
The formal event kicks off onSunday22,
with the committee andboardmeetingbeing
held in themorning. Also in themorningwill
be apre-conferenceLeadershipDevelopment
Workshop: Communicating toMinimizeRisk
hostedby

, CSP. The first social
event of the conventionwill be theopening
night celebrationon the
General Jackson
riverboat, sponsoredbyVolvoConstruction
Equipment.
The keynote speaker on theMonday
morningwill be financial expert

personalmoneymanagement.His topic for
theNDA event is yet tobe confirmed. The
entertainment for theMonday evening is a
