are a result of a shorter frame, allowed by
siting the engine conversely.This combination
allows for high manoeuvrability in restricted
work areas, said Volvo.
Size is also important for Yanmar’s three
machines in its skid-steer loader range – the
752, 903 and 903 Speed + models – which are
described as very compact.
The 752 is only 1,740mmwide and 2,535mm
long (without the bucket) while the 903 and
903 Speed + have a width of 1,810mm and
a length of 2,635mm (again without the
bucket).
The 752 and the 903 have operational
weights of 3,300kg and 3,600kg, nominal
loads of 750kg and 900kg and discharge
heights of 2,475mm and 2,590mm. They can
respectively travel at 13km/h and 15km/h,
and the 903 Speed + has two speeds (11 and
22km/h).
They are equipped with Yanmar diesel
engines of 44kW and 51kW, and the company
claimed that thanks to the LUDV hydraulic
system from Bosch-Rexroth, they had 32kN
of traction. This system is also said to allow
proportional distribution and maximum
control and comfort for the driver.
Yanmar said the loaders allowed easy access
to all components, filters and hydraulic
pumps, while their cabins could easily be
removed to facilitate maintenance.
UPGRADES
The Ditch Witch SK755 compact tool carrier
is replacing the SK650, and features several
upgrades. Responding to customer input,
the company said it incorporated design
improvements for increased productivity,
comfort andperformance in tough conditions.
The new SK model offers up to 362kg of lift
capacity and a 205cm lift height for better
loading capabilities. Manoeuvrability around
the jobsite has also been improved with a
claimed 30% more centre ground clearance
and an innovative high-drive track system
featuring bolt-on sprockets, wide track rollers
and replaceable spindles.
The system is said to make it easy to convert
from a narrow to wide track stance and allows
operators to rotate tracks and achieve up to
40% longer track life.
An ergonomic operator’s station features
easy-to-use controls with an optional single-
level joystick. A two-way auxiliary control
foot pedal for the attachment is designed
to free up the user’s hands to control depth
and ground speed. The operator platform has
been enlarged by 50%.
