F
or the second straight year, The Rental
Show sold out its exhibit space, bringing
in more than 80 new companies across
the various rental sectors for the Feb. 9-12
event in Orlando. Over the past few years,
the construction rental industry has seen a
resurgence with growth expected through 2015.
Despite The Rental Show competing with
ConExpo 2014 for visitors, show
organizers expect a solid turnout,
pointing out North America’s rental
sector grew 6.2 percent in 2013,
with further growth of 8.4 percent
expected in 2014 and a ballooning
11.3 percent in 2015.
While most companies are keeping
product releases at bay until ConExpo,
visitors can expect the following
pieces of equipment on display in
Orlando. Also, make sure to stop by
KHL’s booth (5718) for the latest
magazine issues and more.
CUSTOM EQUIPMENT (4330)
will
showcase a range of its Hy-Brid
Lifts. The push-around models on display will be
the HB-P3.6 and HB-P4.5, which are designed
to meet CE standards. For the self-propelled
models, the company is showing its newest
models; the HB-830 and HB-1230. The scissor
lifts feature a zero-turn drive system providing
the units with “excellent maneuverability,”
according to Justin Kissinger,
marketing manager for Custom
Equipment.
Also on display will be
Custom’s HB-1030 and HB-1430
“workhorse machines,” Kissinger
says, features the company’s
largest platform space and highest
lifting capacities (750 pounds and
670 pounds, respectfully) while also
maintaining a lightweight footprint.
GENIE (4713)
, a Terex Aerial
Work Platform brand, will showcase a
number of its aerial work platforms
and telehandlers at The Rental
Show. Of particular note will be the
company’s newly upgraded Genie
GTH-5519 compact telehandler.
The GTH-5519 unit was designed to
Rental growth
offer a Tier 4 final engine and also incorporates
“a number of other improvements offering
benefits to customers,” the company says.
The telehandler’s specs have changed with
the overall length reduced by 5 inches. Its
wheelbase has expanded by 2 inches and the
turning radius has decreased by 3 inches. The
overall weight has increased by 540 pounds to
10,360 pounds.
The Deutz TD 2.9 L4 Tier 4 final engine
replaces the Deutz D 2011 L4 Tier 4 interim
Custom Equipment’s Hy-Brid 1230.
The updated Genie GTH-5519 will be on display
at Terex Aerial Work Platform’s booth.
