WOC PREVIEW
W
orld of Concrete will celebrate its
40th year Jan. 20-24 when it takes
over the Las Vegas Convention Center
in 2014.
The annual masonry-focused exhibition
originally started in February 1975, in
Houston. The show had just three sponsoring
organizations: the American Society
for Concrete Contractors, the American
Concrete Pumping Association and Concrete
Construction Publications and only two
participating organizations: the American
Concrete Institute and the Portland Cement
Association.
The event drew 70 exhibitors, 19 speakers,
and 1,100 attendees. Fast-forward to 2014,
and World of Concrete is now one of the largest
annual shows with more than 1,300 exhibitors,
80 speakers and more than 50,000 attendees.
“WOC 2014 will be an important event for the
industry,” said Jackie James, director of World
of Concrete. “Attendees can find everything
they are looking for in one place—new
and innovative products, leading suppliers,
extensive education and training opportunities
while networking with their peers and enjoying
all that Las Vegas has to offer.”
Visitors can expect to see the following
companies displaying their newest and most
popular wares: Beta Max Hoist (N1656),
Cargotec USA, Inc., Hiab (C6420), Caterpillar
(C5661), EZ Scaffold (N1812), Fraco (N1613
and C4335), Gehl (C5451), Hydro Mobile
