Cleveland JATC trains a
quarter of its members
The Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 33 Cleveland Joint Apprenticeship
Training Committee (JATC), an AWPT-approved training center, has
trained 25 percent of its members through the AWPT operator training
program in just one year. The training team is headed by John Nesta and
it was recognized for its efforts earlier this year in Miami when it won an
International Award for Powered Access in the category of Best New IPAF
Training Center.
By providing AWPT operator training, the JATCs in Cleveland, Chicago
and Toledo are offering their members and contractors another measure of
safety and quality that separates the organized sheet metal industry from
its non-union competitors.
It is also positioning these local chapters at the leading edge of safety
standards that are increasingly being required by general contractors and
corporate clients.
Joint AEM-IPAF technical

platforms (AWPs) and AWP control functionality.
