ConExpo celebrates
access upsurge
The ConExpo-Con/Agg
exhibition, held from March
4 – 8 in Las Vegas, US attracted
nearly 130000 visitors, according
to organiser, the Association of
Equipment Manufacturers.
It said this exceeded attendance
in 2011, the last time the show
was held, and was second only to
ConExpo 2008.
The glorious weather over the
five-day show was accompanied
by a renewed level of optimism
from exhibitors, not least
access manufacturers, who were
unanimous in their view that
North America was set for
sustained growth.
See the ConExpo review
starting on page 26 for the
access-related launches at the
show including a number of new
innovations from JLG, Skyjack,
Manitou, Palfinger, Xtreme,
Elliott, Altec, Manitex and Oil
& Steel, to name a few.There
will also be more about these

special regional report in the May
issue of this magazine.
Speaking at Terex’s press
conference at the show, its AWP
president Matt Fearon said, “We
JLG Industries will discontinue the manufacturing of its Lull telehandler
product line beginning in 2015. Discontinued products include the Lull
644E-42, 944E-42, and 1044C-54 Series II. “The market for Lull telehandler
models has been in decline for the last several years, which combined with
increased cost to comply with new EPA engine standards, led us to the
decision to discontinue the product line,” said Brian Boeckman, JLG Industries
global product director for telehandlers.
“Our comprehensive telehandler portfolio remains solid, however, and we
believe there are significant models across our JLG line of equipment that will
support the shift for our customers .”

annual growth. We all remember
the steep financial cliff, but what
