that it will add
another superboom to its Ultra
Boom range. The manufacturer’s
biggest booms at present are the
150 ft 1500SJ telescopic model
and the veteran 150HAX.
“We will unveil more details soon
and expect to take orders at the
upcoming ConExpo show, with
shipments of the new model in
2014,” said Karel Huijser, JLG

Niftylift
has
appointed IPS France to provide
parts and service for its complete
range of products throughout
France. IPS France will provide
sales of spare parts, warranty
repair, technical advice and general
support. It will deliver product
support for Niftylift through its
nationwide network of 56 mobile
service engineers.

Mongolia Equipment
Rental Corp (MERC)
has
become the Hertz equipment
rental franchise holder in
Mongolia following an agreement
between Hertz and MERC’s owner,
US-based Consolidation Services.

MANTALL TARGETS
TURKEY
DEADLINE DAY FOR AHERN
Istanbul Vinç has become the
exclusive distributor for Chinese
aerial work platform manufacturer
Mantall, it was announced at bauma.
Istanbul Vinç is one of the biggest
access equipment rental companies
in Turkey. Established in 1996, it
also distributes Holland Lift scissors,
CTE compact and trailer lifts, Jekko
mini cranes, Starlift hoists, Instant
Upright aluminium tower systems
and IPS spare parts.

general manager, said, “Turkey is
one of the markets with the most
growth. The economy is booming,
especially the building sector and
AWP market. We will be ahead of the
competition with Mantall’s quality,
support and competitive prices.
Creditors of Ahern Rentals had until Monday, May 13 to vote on the two Chapter
11 restructuring plans on offer, one from Ahern Rentals itself and the other by a
group of noteholders.
Following the voting, the US Bankruptcy Court will meet on June 3 to hold the
‘confirmation meeting’ to determine which of the two plans is approved.
The votes and the confirmation hearing will determine whether Don Ahern
continues as the major shareholder and CEO of the business. Ahern Rentals,
based in Las Vegas, is the largest independent rental company in North America,
with revenues in 2012 of US $353.4 million. It entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy
protection in December 2011.
Booming bauma
for access
This year’s bauma exhibition in
Munich, Germany was widely
regarded as one of the greatest
in its 30 year history, particularly
in light of the difficult economic
environment that still hampers
Europe.
A record 530,000 visitors
from more than 200 countries
around the world attended last
week’s Bauma exhibition in
Munich, Germany. Organiser
Messe München added that with
200,000 visitors from outside
Germany, this year’s show saw the
greatest number of international
visitors in Bauma’s history.
Access equipment
manufacturers were out in force
with a range of spectacular
products, including Terex AWPs
new 180 ft SX-180 superboom,
Palfinger’s 90 m P900 Top Class
truck mount and.They were
joined by a host of other new
and interesting products and
companies.
Almost without exception,
exhibitors told
AI
they had been
surprised by the number of
visitors to their stands and the
quantity of sales made during the
show.

Major telehandler
trend in US
US-based ALL Erection & Crane
Rental Corp. has purchased 50
JLG telehandlers.The new units,
which include more than 30
high-capacity machines, will be
delivered in groups
of about 17 at a
time every three
months.
JLG spokesperson
Steve Handley said,
“The new larger
telehandlers are now
becoming standard
fixtures on major
construction sites.
They are truly all-
purpose machines
that can pick and
carry loads and extend their
booms like larger cranes, so they
are much-used companions to
the larger cranes on almost every
construction site.”
