Manitex rolls out
new 19 tonner
Manitex is introducing a
new 19-ton boom truck to
the market. The 1970C is
available on a 4 x 2 chassis,
and is expected to be widely
used in rental applications.
The 1970C offers a 70-foot
three-section proportional
boom with a maximum
boom tip height of 121-feet,
3-inches.

Bay Crane opens new
facility in Rhode Island
terminals in Boston, MA and
North Haven CT, the
company said. Operating in
the northeastern U.S. since
2008, Bay Crane supplies all
terrain, rough terrain and
crawler cranes throughout the
region.
The event gave Bay Crane
the opportunity to display
the complete Tadano rough
terrain line from 15 to 100
tons capacity; all terrain
cranes to 600 tons; and
crawler cranes up to the 330-
ton capacity Liebherr LR 1300
with derrick attachment and
floating counterweight tray.
A feature of the event was
the demonstration
of the LR 1300
supporting a
288,000-pound lift
of a 30-ton, 60-ton
and 90-ton crane
meticulously rigged
from the company’s
200-ton capacity
offset center of
gravity spreader

on the new facility and
recognizing the company for
the preservation and creation
of new jobs in the state.

acquired Marks Crane &
Rigging, adding the Odessa,
TX business to its portfolio
of crane rental firms.
Marks Crane & Rigging
provides heavy lifting and
transportation services
in the West Texas and
Southeastern New Mexico
area. The acquisition
includes nine full service
branch locations, 235
employees, and 135 cranes,
210 trailers, 130 road
tractors and 20 forklifts.
