U.S. scaffolding and fall

regional vice president.

IPAF makes North
American progress
Haulotte and Hydro Mobile have
joined the International Powered
Access Federation to provide
training. IPAF has also opened a
membership office near Chicago in
Glen Ellyn, IL.
Haulotte U.S. has begun
the process to have approved
instructors and evaluators to offer
the AWPT eLearning training and
issue PAL Cards to successful
trainees. It will offer this training in
both the U.S. and Canada.
Marco Martinez, Haulotte’s
technical trainer, and Larry
Kavelman, field service
representative, will work to
become senior instructors so they
can train customers to become
approved evaluators. Haulotte U.S.
will be ready to offer the training in
early November.
Also, Hydro Mobile, manufacturer
of mast climbing work platforms
and transport platforms, has

Trionic Group launches new
Can-based interface module
In response to customer demand, the Trionic Group, has introduced its
new Can-based Interface Module. It’s equipped with a three digit display
to easily show battery charge status and fault codes to the operator.
With its compact design, it provides three momentary switches for user
specific functions and three indicator LEDs, as well as several inputs
and outputs for additional switches, sensors, lights, buzzers and joystick
connectivity.
UNITED RENTALS
said it
expected non-residential
construction to continue to
improve through 2014 as it
reported strong results for the
third quarter of 2013. Total
revenues rose by 8.3 percent
to $1138 million for the three
months to the end of September,
with gross profits up 10 percent
to $497 million. The increased
revenues reflect an 8.2 percent in
the volume of equipment on rent,
year on year, and a 3.2 percent
increase in rental rates. United
said it expected rates to rise by at
least 4 percent over the full year.
Sharp growth in sales by
TEREX’S AWP
division helped
the company to revenues of
$1.81 billion in the third quarter
of the year – almost unchanged
from the same period in 2012.
Terex made an operating profit
of $141 million for the three-
month period, a +7 percent
improvement on Q3, 2012. Terex
AWP saw sales rise +22 percent
to $533 million in the third
quarter.
HAULOTTE’S
third quarter
revenues rose by 16 percent
to
81 million driven by a 37
percent increase in sales to Latin
American customers. Revenues
for the first nine months were
up 6 percent to
257.2 million,
with a 7 percent increase in
equipment sales to
215.5
million.
ASHTEAD GROUP,
which
includes Sunbelt in the U.S. and
A-Plant in the UK, continued its
climb with record first quarter
pre-tax profits of £99 million,
up 59 percent on the same
period last year. Group revenue
increased 26 percent to £411
million in the quarter. Sunbelt
was the main driver of group
performance. Its revenue grew 25
percent to $479 million, thanks to
a 17 percent increase in average
fleet on rent and 6 percent
improvement in yield. Sunbelt’s
total revenue, including new and
used equipment, merchandise
and consumable sales, grew
slightly less by 22 percent to
$526 million as result of reduced
used equipment sales.
