ACCESS, LIFT & HANDLERS
HIGHLIGHTS
UAE equipment rental
company Manlift, based in
Dubai, UAE, has taken delivery
of its first two MEC products,
a Titan 40-S and a 2684RT
Speed Level. The models from
the U.S. manufacturer were
present during a customer day at
Manlift’s head office in Dubai on
October 2.
Platform Basket has added to
its export management team with
the new appointment of Mauro
Branduardi. Branduardi’s main
focus will be to expand the Italian
manufacturer’s sales in Asia,
Middle East and central-South
America.
Platform Service & Repair
(PSR), part of the IAPS Group,
is expanding in Scotland
with the opening of a new
service center in Wishaw,
near Glasgow. The center
offers mobile and workshop
maintenance and repair services
to powered access owners and
users. These include routine
LOLER examinations, regular
servicing and mobile engineers
who can provide on-site
breakdown repairs and major
refurbishments.
David Graham, managing
director of UK and Ireland Asset
Services at Speedy Hire and a
senior figure at the company
since 2004, left the company in
October. Graham, who joined
Speedy in 2004 from SGB
Youngman, was in charge of
Speedy’s UK hire operations,
and although not a board
member, was a top manager at
the business. Graham is a well-
known figure in the UK rental
sector. Before joining Speedy he
was sales and marketing director
of SGB Youngman, the scaffold
and formwork business that was
subsequently split into separate
businesses owned by Harsco and
Youngman Group.

The first 20 of Dingli’s new
37-foot (11.5 m) working
height vertical mast platforms
are now in production and
will be delivered to dealers in
western Europe and Australia
before the end of the year.
The AMWP81115 mast lift

on the Toucan machines
now produced by JLG, and
has been developed by
Dingli specifically for rental
customers in western Europe

Terex Aerial Work Platforms
(AWP) has sidelined the scissor
and boom lifts designed for the
Chinese market that it launched at
Bauma China last year.
The company will now extend
its existing range of booms
and scissors at its subsidiary
in Changzhou, China which are
aimed at customers in the country
and Asia Pacific.
The 40-foot (12 m) Genie V1200
boom and 16-foot (5 m) push-
around Genie PS500 scissor
were introduced as a low cost
alternative for the Chinese market
with stripped back features.
But as Clint Weber, general
manager at Terex Changzhou
Machinery, told ALH at the
BICES exhibition in Beijing, much
changed in the two year design
period of the V1200 and PS500.
Terex AWP will now extend its existing range of booms and scissors
at its subsidiary in Changzhou, China which are aimed at customers
in the country and Asia Pacific.
New models complete
Ruthmann Height range
a 124-foot (38 m) working
height and a 101-foot (31 m)
maximum outreach. According
to the company, compared to
other platforms in that class, the
T 380 provides 16 feet (5 m) of
additional reach when working at
111 feet (34 m). It is the smallest
in the six-model range and offers
a 1,322-pound (600 kg) basket
capacity.
This month Ruthmann will also
launch the 69-ton (63 tonne)
working Steiger T 630, which will
complete the range. Details of this
final model will follow soon.
Other features of the T 380
include a maximum width with
outriggers of 12.5 feet (3.82 m),
and total length of 32 feet
(9.76 m).
The Steiger T 380 joins five
Ruthmann is completing its Height
Performance range with two new
models: a 124-foot (38 m) model
just launched and a 223-foot (68
m) version to follow.
The T 380 truck mount has
other models in the Height
Performance series, not including
the soon-to-be launched T 630.
The most recent launch before
the T 380 was the 236-foot (72
m) working height series-topping
Steiger T720 at Bauma in April.
It was decided that Chinese
customers would prefer machines
from Terex AWP’s standard lines.
At the end of October the
company will bring the 60-foot
S60 boom to the China facility.
Some 70 percent of Terex’s
access equipment revenues
in China will then come from
Changzhou.
