Awards set for 2014
After the resounding success of
the 2013 International Awards
for Powered Access in Miami,
KHL Group Americas is proud to
bring forward the first-ever
ALH
Conference and Awards event set
for Nov. 11, 2014 in Miami.
Full conference and award details
will be announced soon, but the
event has already received Gold
sponsorship and support from
Skyjack and has also added its first
speaker to the roster – Don Ahern,
president and CEO of Ahern Rentals
and Xtreme Manufacturing, and
also majority owner of Snorkel.

event will feature a day-long
conference followed by an awards

annual World Crane and Transport
Summit, set for Nov. 12-13, 2014

New U.S./Chinese joint venture
aerial work platform company
EHM is producing products
aimed at the U.S., Europe and
China.
The company is partnered with
U.S.-based consulting company
Technology International Co.
One of its new products is the
E12 Master series all electric
vertical mast available in 14-foot
and 18-foot platform heights.
EHM president Mike Zou says
he is in talks with a major U.S.
manufacturer based to sell
the E12 under a cross sales
agreement in the West.
The OEM also has a range of
scissors, self-propelled booms,
trailer-mounted platforms and
tracked platforms that are either
production ready or in R&D.
Before starting the company,
Zou was president of Chinese
manufacturer Zoomlion’s
speciality vehicle division.
He spent 26 years in the U.S.
during which he has always
been associated with AWPs
and helped write the ISO
TC214 standard for aerial work
platforms.
Snorkel sale complete
North American
telehandler
manufacturer Xtreme
Manufacturing, LLC
(Xtreme) has signed
an agreement for the
staged acquisition of
aerial lift manufacturer
Snorkel from its UK
owner, The Tanfield
Group.
Under the terms of the
deal a new company
Snorkel International
Holdings (Snorkel) was set up.
Xtreme, which is owned by Don
Ahern, who also owns Ahern
Rentals, has acquired an initial 51
percent stake in the company, in
exchange for agreeing to invest up
to $50 million, mainly to be used
as working capital.
Tanfield has acquired 49 percent
of the new company in exchange
for contributing substantially all of
the assets of its Snorkel business
division.
Shareholders in The Tanfield
Group, which is listed on the
AIM market of the London Stock
Exchange, voted overwhelmingly
in favor of the deal with Xtreme
earlier this month. Under the
agreement, all three of Tanfield’s
executive officers, including CEO
