cards have exceeded 50000, by
far the highest number since the
scheme started in the late 1960s.
Dave Francis,Access and
Scaffolding IndustryTraining
Organisation (ASITO) chair and
internal auditmanager for SGB
said, “Many congratulations
toCISRS on achieving this
milestone.SGBhave beenhuge
supporters ofUK-basedCISRS
since its inception.We believe it
is important for our operatives
to hold validCISRS cards so
we are comfortable our staff are
trained to the highest industry
standards and promoting safety at
the forefront of all we do. CISRS
is held in great regard, not only
by the scaffolding sector but
construction industry as awhole,
andSGB are proud to have
contributed to its success.”
In a climatewhichhas seen
some card schemes come under
scrutiny from thewider industry,
CISRS seems to be one of the
few schemes which is bucking the
trend, it said.
The scheme continues to
move forward.The last eight
years has seen the introduction
of SystemScaffoldProduct
Training Scheme (SSPTS),
Basic andAdvancedScaffold
InspectionTraining Scheme
(SITS) and amandatory one
day course requirement forNew
EntrantTrainees andScaffolding
Labourers prior to registration
CISRSOperativeTraining
Scheme (COTS).
And a full scheme review is
now underway in order to ensure
any relevant industry changes are
incorporated to the core scheme
Part 1,Part 2 andAdvanced
programmes.

unguided rope hoists for
scaffolders at Intermat 2015.
Theworld’s biggest construction
equipment exhibition this year
takes place 20–25April at the
Paris-NordVillepinte exhibition
centre inParis,France.
TheMaxi offers two lifting
speeds, anoverloadprotection
and a slack rope switch aswell
as a variety of different load
receptacles.The product is ideal
for quickly raising scaffolding and
safely transporting components
andbuildingmaterials, said the
company.
“Youdonot need to transport
the handy drive of the rope
drum to the top. It can simply
be installed to the scaffoldon
the bottom.You can install the
lightweight swivel arm in the
Maxi at Intermat
desiredheight to the scaffoldon
the top,”explained a company
spokesman.
Quick assembly and easy
movability are the biggest
advantages of the scaffold
assembly hoist, added the
company. Itsmaximumworking
height is 40mbut that canbe
extended to76m if thewinch
is installed in a higher position.
Load capacity is 120kgon the
Maxi 120S and150kgon the
Maxi 150S,while lifting speed is
20-60m/min and15-45m/min,
respectively.
Apart from scaffolders, it is
mainly roofers andpainterswho
use this tool to transport their
materials onto the scaffold.
Themanufacturerwill also show
