TCA Lift has delivered a Falcon Spider FS420 to the
LotteWorld Tower in South Korea, formaintenance
work.
The 42mworking height model will be used
for window cleaning in the 123 floor, 556m high
rise complexwhich is still under construction in
Seoul. It is the tallest building in South Korea and
is situated next to the existing LotteWorld complex
completed in 1989.
The new building incorporates a curved glass
façadewhich creates challengeswhen cleaning
it and is suited to the unique jib and low ground
pressure of the FS420, says TCA.
There are eight models in the Falcon Spider lift
serieswithworking heights up to 52m.
LOTTEWORLD TOWER
Space for new construction is quite limited
inGeneva, so the Swiss government decided
to renovate a factory and its characteristic
tower, converting the landmark into luxury
apartments.
The renovation of the former flour factory,
including its towermill, demanded the tallest
self propelled aerial work platform on the
market. With little room on thework site,
the up-and-over reach of the jib-mounted
UK plant hire companyMorris Leslie used aManitouMT625 telehandler to assist with the installation and
removal of the ceramic poppy installation at Poppy FieldMemorial at the Tower of London.
Fivemillion people visited the Tower to view the 888246 poppies each signifying amilitary fatality in the
First WorldWar.
From 12November a group of 11000
volunteers removed 75000 poppies
each day from themoat of the Tower
of London.
Power Platform Serviceswas also
called upon to help dismantle the
display. The company provided a CTE
ZED 21 JHV truckmounted platform to
complete thework.
Themachine has 20.6m of working
height, amax outreach of 9.7m and
a basket capacity of 300 kg, says the
manufacturer.

proven very helpful in dismantling the unused
tower.
The 1850SJ lift is on rent fromGyger
Nacelles, an equipment specialist known
for its early adoption of big boom lifts. The
company purchased one of the first 1500SJ’s
when the 45.7m lift was launched in 2011.
DidierGyger ofGygerNacelles comments,
“Foremost,we rent it to customers who are
involved in bridge constructionwork,which
is typicallywork beyond 50m.But we also
see that the 1850SJ is rented as a substitute
on job sites where a truckmounted platform
would be considered in the past.AMEWP is
considered to be a cost-efficient alternative to
a truck, both in terms of rent rates and labor
costs.”
