compressors and OEM business.
Atlas Copco Portable Energy introduced the newQAS 25
and QAS 50 generators at Conexpo – its first Tier 4 Final
compliant generators. The 60Hz sets for heavy-duty
applications are using Isuzu 4LE engines with a Diesel
Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)-only configuration to achieve Tier
4 Final emission levels. The QAS 25 and QAS 50models will
replace the existing QAS 25 and QAS 45 units and Atlas Copco
said that its entire range of portable generators will be Tier 4
Final-compliant by the end of this year. The two newmodels
use the same engine, enclosure and controls, meaning that
rental companies need to stock fewer spare parts, including
air and oil filters.
