Construction Equipment Rental looks at the crane
rental sector; Wang Li Chun from Xuzhou G&L
Construction Equipment Rental Co considers his own
experience of establishing a general rentals company
in China; and Yuan Zheng, chairman and founder of
Guangzhou Hailin Rental, takes part in the rental
round-table, looking at the role tower crane rental
companies could play in the market.
The aerial platform rental sector is important to the
development of rental in China, and we have several
speakers who are experts in this area. Tim Whiteman,
IPAF CEO, who is discussing safety regulations
with the Chinese authorities, and Nick Sowden of
manufacturer Snorkel, who will ask if there is an
‘Asian model’ for the growth of access rental.
John Bureau of Wynne System in the US meanwhile
provides expert advice on the role that IT and
software now plays in rental businesses.
The event, which is staged the day before the
BICES construction exhibition in Beijing, will be
opened by Mr Jia Li Cai, managing director of the
Machinery Management & Rental Division of the China
Construction Industry Association (CCIA).

Over 120000 visitors are expected to attend the
12th bi-annual BICES construction equipment
exhibition, which takes place from 15 to 18
October at the Jiu Hua International Exhibition
Center in Beijing,

The show will cover a record 210000 m2
of exhibition space – up from 195000 m2 in
2011 - but a lot has changed since the last time
the event took place. The Chinese market has
slowed down - sales of construction equipment
fell by 34% last year.
Despite the current trough in the market, the
scale of this year’s BICES show is greater than
ever, with 1500 exhibitors registered to attend,
compared to 1030 in 2011.
