affected engines as small as 18 kW, Stage IV laws start at
56 kW. This means that many compact machines will be
unaffected by the laws, and so many of the new launches at
Intermat will be for heavier equipment.
For example, Bell will use the show to offer a preview of its
larger E-series articulateddump trucks, including its 50 ton
(45.5 tonne) capacity range-topping B50E.The company
has used Mercedes engines with selective catalytic
reduction (SCR) technology to achieve
emissions compliance.
Among the novelties on show from
Case will be new graders, which are
available in 4x6 and 6x6 drive
configurations.

Although their absence arguablydiminishes
the show, it has to be said that Intermat
will still be big, and that the list of
participating key manufacturers
is still a long one. For example,
earthmoving equipment brands
that will be present include Bell,
CNH, Doosan, Hidromek, Hitachi,
Hyundai,
Komatsu,
Kobelco,
Liebherr, Liugong,Mecalac, Sany,Terex
andVolvo among others.
It is important to note that among them Kobelco is a new
exhibitor at Intermat. It will be on of the first major European
shows for the, following the dissolutionof its joint venturewith
CNH at the end of 2012.
New products
For many of the manufacturers taking part in Intermat 2015,
the showwill beabout thecontinued introductionof equipment
with engines meeting the Stage IV
European emissions regulations. This is
equivalent toTier 4 Final in theUS.
The stepup to this new requirement for
diesel engines from 56 kW to 560 kW
started last year in Europe. Although
the new laws started on specific dates

Another point is that whereas
