Company and the Lane Construction
Corporation has been awarded a
US$ 8 billion contract for the I-4
Ultimate project in Florida, US.
The I-4Ultimate project is
a public-private partnership
concession agreement to design,
build, finance, operate andmaintain
21miles (34 km) of Interstate 4. It
includes the reconstruction of 15
major interchanges, construction of
more than 140 bridges, adding four
variable priced toll Express Lanes
in themedian, and rebuilding the
general use lanes along the entire
corridor.
The joint venture, which is part
of the I-4Mobility Partners team,
was selected by FDOT as the best
value proposer for this public-
private partnership contract. The
I-4Mobility Partners consortium is
led by infrastructure investor John
Laing, which holds a 50% share in
the project.
RUSSIA
Budget
increase
Concern from a contractor over
its profit margin on the cost of
building a Russian football stadium
in Nizhny Novgorod for the 2018
World Cup has led to its budget
being increased.
Construction firm Stroytransgaz
had reportedly considered quitting
theprojectover itsprice tagof RUR
15 billion (US$ 380 million) –
which has increased to RUR 17
billion (US$430million) following
lobbying from the company.
Funded by the Russian federal
budget, the capacity of the stadium
will be 45,000 seats. As well as one
of the host venues for the World
Cup, it will form a new base for the
Russian premier league FC Volga
NizhnyNovgorod team.
Its development follows the
opening of Spartak Moscow’s new
45,000-seat venue last month,
which cost RUB 14 billion (US$
354 million) which was delivered
on schedule for the 2014/15
football season.
TheWorldCup will be hosted by
a total of 11 Russian cities, with
many of the competition’s venues
still at the design stage.

Loans worth € 2.2 billion (US$
2.9 billion) have been approved
by the European Investment Bank
(EIB) for a range of infrastructure
schemes across the EU.
The move comes as part of wider
strategic backing for small-and-
medium-sized businesses, which
were also granted loans totalling
€ 1.5 billion (US$ 1.9 billion) as
part of its latest package of support
measures.
This includes up to € 600million
(US$ 780 million) to support rail
infrastructure across Austria, a total
of €325million (US$425million)
for the improvement of electricity
distribution systems in Spain and
up to € 213 million (US$ 275
million) for motorway widening in
Germany.
Therewere also furthermajor EIB
loans valued at € 1.9 billion (US$
2.5 billion) granted for research
and development.
Among these were € 500
million (US$ 650 million) for the
improvement of fuel consumption,
emissions reduction and efficiency
enhancement of vehicles in
Germany and € 475 million (US$
620million) awarded in the Czech
Republic.

loaders and other construction

The company, which says it has
over 1million registered users, said
GovPlanet would be the primary
marketplace for the sale of US
Department of Defense (DoD)
rolling stock surplus assets.
IronPlanet chairman and CEO
Gregory Owens said, “GovPlanet
is a compelling new platform
for fast and efficient disposal of
government surplus equipment
that we believe will transform
the way assets have traditionally
been sold in this market. We look
forward to working with the DoD
and other public sector entities as

The company added that
GovPlanet’s first online auction
