The first episode, published last month, looks at the rebound in the US
aerial workplatformmarket and stability in its Europe.Keybusiness stories
discussed include the strong start to the year experienced by the world’s
biggest rental company, forUnitedRentals.
Meanwhile, on the product side of themarket, the two editors look at the
new the generation of super boom lifts that are emerging, such as Genie’s
SX-180 and JLG’s 1850SJ, which offer 50m+working heights.
There is also a look ahead to key industry events this year, including
this month’s dedicated international powered access exhibition, APEX, in
Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as well as the first-ever

APEX latest
Following on from the preview in
theMay issue of
iC
of this month’s
APEX exhibition, in Amsterdam,
theNetherlands,more late-breaking
news about new products being
launched at the show is available on
Palazzani has announced it will
use the exhibtion to launch its
new 43 m working height XTJ 43
track mounted platform. The unit
the replaces and improves upon
the XTJ 42, with an increased
working height and components
from Palazzani’s latest Ragno range
ofmachines.
Meanwhile, Terex AWP’s Genie
will launch two articulating booms
at APEX2014, the 18.9mworking
height Z-62/40, an update of the
Z-60/34, plus anew addition to the
same range.
The latter will be built in Europe
to suit the needs of customers
there and is said to be compact,
lightweight and designed for
indoor and outdoor applications in
confined spaces.
A key trade association partner to
APEX, the International Powered
Access Federation (IPAF) has
announced it will be adopting
a ‘back to basics’ approach at
the exhibition. It will use the
show to outline key objectives of
encouraging safety and technical
efficiency in the industry.
