LifetimeAchievement
Award toDavidSinclair at
its 2015AnnualGeneralMeeting,
held at theDorchesterHotel in
London, onFriday13March, in
recognitionof a lifetime serving
thedemolition in anumber of
official capacities onboth sides of
theAtlantic.
This is only the third such
award tobepresentedby the
NFDC in its almost 75 years of
existence, with theother two
havinggone toClaudeBrown
andSidneyHunt respectively.
NFDC chief executiveHoward
Button said: “I’ve knownDavid
throughoutmy career in the
demolition industry.Hewas there
when I first joined thenational
Council andhe just retired from
theCouncil yesterday.Hehas
given exemplary service to the
Federation throughout hiswhole
career.He is apast president of
theEDA andpast president of
theNFDC, of course.Hehas
attended67meetings of the
National Council –nomean feat
alone.He is an ambassador for
our industry andworkedwith the
UNduring the recoverywork in
Haiti following the earthquake
BaltemAS, a Sumitomo Corp
subsidiary company andmain
Komatsu dealer for Lithuania,
Estonia and Latvia, has been
appointed by Sandvik Construction
as a distributor of the latter’s range
of mobile crushers and screens, in
addition to providing full aftermarket
care, spare parts and customer
service. Headquartered in Talinnin,
Estonia, Baltemwas established
in 1999 and now has offices,
workshops and service engineers
throughout this Baltic region.
Sandvik Construction’s
distributormanager Kauko Juuri
said of the appointment: “We are
sure that the combination of Sandvik
equipment and global aftermarket
support, togetherwithBaltem’s
local knowledge, customer and
industry expertise, will enable
our customers throughout the
area to benefit from awinning
combination.”

Over the last 12months the
two companieshavebeenworking

anumberof projects and there
are currently five inproduction.

2014. “We expect 2015 tobea
very significant year forCDE in
NorthAmerica” explained Joel.

numberof newprojects and these
will all becomeoperational over
thenext two to threemonths. This
will giveus significant coverage
across theUSAandwill be the
catalyst thatwill allowus to
maximise theopportunity that
exists forour equipment inNorth
America.”
