MARCH 2014
ACCESS, LIFT & HANDLERS
CONEXPO GUIDE
GEHL (N-12605)
is introducing an optional
lifting hook for select Gehl RS Series telescopic
handler models. The lift hook option provides a
secure lifting point for transporting suspended
loads without the use of an additional
attachment. The lifting hook is mounted on
the telescopic handler boom tip and allows
placement of loads with or without the standard
fork carriage attached to the machine. This
attachment has the same lift capacity and load
zone ranges as the standard fork and carriage.
The lift hook is strategically located as to not
interfere with the proper operation of other
available attachments. It can also be installed in
the field by replacing only one pin.
HAULOTTE GROUP’S (G-1531)
big ConExpo
launch will be its HT67 RTJ (HT23 RTJ)
telescopic boom for the North American market.
The HT67 RTJ has a platform working height
of 67 feet, 5 inches, horizontal outreach of 60
feet, 5 inches, about 3 feet more than industry
standards, the company says.
Optional dual load capacity offers lifting
capacity of up to 1,000 pounds, and a fast lifting
speed of just 56 seconds to full height. The unit
also feature fully proportional and simultaneous
movements.
Also displayed on the Haulotte Group stand
will be the HA130 JRT (HA41 PX-NT) articulating
boom. The unit features a maximum outreach of
65 feet, 4 inches and up to three simultaneous
and proportional movements with a non-
restricted working area.
Also on show will be the HA51 JRT (HA41
PX-NT) articulating boom, which features
continuous 360-degree turntable rotation,
zero tail swing, fly jib motion and 180-degree
platform rotation. Four wheels drive and steer,
a 16-inch ground clearance and a hydraulic
differential lock system give “exceptional
all-terrain performance,” Haulotte says, with
gradeability up to 50 percent.
The company’s compact diesel scissor, the
2668 RT (C12DX), will be on hand. The unit
features an 11-foot, 6-inch turning radius and a
drive speed of 3.4 mph.
The company also plans to show its optimum
1930 E (Optimum 8) and Compact 3947 E
(Compact 14) electric scissors and Star 26J
(Star 10) electric vertical mast.
The
INTERNATIONAL POWERED ACCESS
FEDERATION (G-1817)
will feature a live demo
to promote the safe and effective use of aerial
work platforms when carrying out temporary
work at height near power lines. This draws
on data from IPAF’s accident reporting project
which indicates that electrocutions are
the single largest cause of fatalities
to AWP operators in the U.S.
IPAF is sharing the
8,000-square-foot Lift
Safety Zone with the National
Commission for the Certification
of Crane Operators (NCCCO). Experts
from both organizations will be present
to provide advice with the help of live machine
demonstrations.
Information about the operator eLearning
module and the AWPs for Managers training
course, among other offerings, will be on show.
