MARCH 2014
ACCESS, LIFT & HANDLERS
1932RS and 3248RS scissor lifts. The company
will have team members on hand to discuss its
new G10 telehandler reconditioning program as
well as JLG Ground Support services.
MANITOU NORTH AMERICA (N-12605)
will
show the MHT 10225 telescopic handler with a
49,500-pound maximum capacity. The MHT is
designed for applications requiring heavier lift
capacity such as mining, quarries, heavy bridge
construction or steel erection.
The MHT 10225 is powered by a 175 hp Tier
III Mercedes turbo diesel engine and is equipped
with a two speed hydrostatic transmission for
maneuverability and ease of operation. The
manufacturer says it has excellent drawbar pull
equating to good rough terrain performance.
A high output load sensing hydraulic system
capable of performing three simultaneous
movements with no loss of speed.
MEC AERIAL WORK PLATFORMS (S-6148)
will introduce a 60-foot rough terrain scissor to
compete with European-produced models.
The MEC 6092RT is the largest scissor to be
manufactured in North America and joins the
MEC ‘92’ Ultra-Deck rough terrain scissor lift
series. It is based on the existing MEC 5492RT,
which up until now has been North America’s
tallest production scissor lift.
“The 6092RT takes large platform scissor lifts
to heights that have been designated only for
boom lifts, in the North American market,” says
a company spokesman.
The MEC 6092RT comes equipped with 24.6-
foot Ultra-Deck platform with dual slide decks,
a turbo charged diesel Kubota engine, MEC’s
exclusive Quad-Trax full time 4-wheel drive,
oscillating axle, automatic levelling outriggers
and engine slide out module.
“The justification behind the 6092RT is to
address the highly priced European competitive
models,” says Jim Tolle MEC director of
managers, contractors, and trade professionals.
Workers can move hands-free in a 360-degree
range of motion in an enclosed platform that
includes a lanyard anchorage point. The three
lightweight components minimize storage
space and make for simple assembly and ease
of transport. The FT140 is powered by a new
dual 36V lithium-ion battery system, providing
dependable performance and a convenient work
tray to increase jobsite productivity.
JLG has also upgraded the T32E Toucan mast
boom lift with a “ground-up” redesign. Designed
with 80 percent fewer hoses and fittings
than its predecessor, the T32E requires less
maintenance and has fewer leak points, making
for less complexity for owners and operators.
The T32E also includes a direct electric drive
instead of a hydraulic drive, for more efficient
use. Duty cycles are improved, allowing for
greater operator productivity.
The company will introduce redesigns of
compact crawler X500AJ and X600AJ booms.
Both feature a 500-pound capacity – an
enhancement over previous models. In addition,
both compact crawler booms have improved
work envelopes. Redesigned with an increased
capacity, the X500AJ and X600AJ have added a
new two-person platform as standard, and the
platform weight capacity has increased from
450 pounds to 500 pounds, enabling operators
to include more materials on the platform
for increased jobsite efficiency. The X500AJ
features a 56-foot working height and 50-foot
platform, and weighs 4,800 pounds. The X600AJ
unit features a 66-foot working height with a
60-foot platform height and weighs only 6,200
pounds. Both are 15 feet long and less than six
feet high with the outrigger pads in position,
making them suitable for driving through single
doors.
JLG will also have its super-compact G5-18A
telehandler on display which was redesigned
in 2013. It features a 127-inch turning radius
and a stowed height of less than 76 inches. The
machine also offers a variety of attachments for
versatility in handling jobsite challenges. The
G5-18A features a maximum lift height up to
18 feet, an extended outreach of 11 feet, and a
5,500-pound maximum lifting capacity.
Lastly, JLG will have its 450AJ boom lift on
display as well as its G12-55A telehandler; the
20MVL drivable vertical mast machine; and the
Manitou will show the MHT 10255.
