INTERNATIONAL
model, and the company has 10 models in
total, including self-propelled booms, push
around scissor lifts and articulated booms.
“We are increasing our current product
types rapidly with each passing day,” said
Kerem Bayrak, ELS Makine member of the
board, “Access is a fast growing sector in
the World, Turkey being one of the leading
countries for growth. A major reason of this
growth in Turkey is the new work safety laws.”
Russia, Brazil and South America, Dubai
and Middle East, North Africa and the ‘Stans’
are all target markets, as well as the whole of
Europe, said Mr Bayrak. “Our sales target next
year is 500 machines.The 2018 target is 2500-
3000 machines per year.”
Truck mounts
At the other end of the showground fellow
Turkish manufacturer Hidroken was
displaying its new 45 m working height
HK45TPK truck mounted platform with
articulating jib. It is the biggest model in its
range and is aimed at Turkish and European
markets. Within three months, however, it will
have a new big brother, a 70 m working height
offering. Five units have been sold already in
Turkey, pending production. Another new
model was the 12 m TSJ25 tracked platform,
which supersedes the manufacturer’s 23 m
offering. It includes redesigned stabilisers,
extendable tracks and a new Kabota engine.
Staying on the subject of big beasts,
Palfinger Platforms presented the 90 m
working height P900 Top Class truck mount
at the show. The model has a lateral outreach
of 32.3 m with a cage capacity of 530 kg,
or a 700 kg basket option. It is mounted on
5-axle Scania chassis, with a total weight of
48 tonnes.
“Nevertheless, the heavyweight has been
optimised for practical conditions and can be
securely stabilised in areas where there is very
little space,” said Stephan Kulawik, Palfinger
Platforms managing director, “Thanks to
a fifth axle, which acts as a lift axle and is
automatically lifted during stabilization, the
P900 requires a much smaller jack lift on the
incline.”
Distance between the stabilisers is 7255mm
length × 7200 mm width to facilitate differing
international licensing laws.
“However, we did not just focus on the
technical parameters, but also looked at
additional benefits in daily use,” continued Mr
Kulawik. “The P900 is fitted with a sufficiently
dimensioned driver’s sleeper cab. This has the
economic advantage that hotel costs can be
saved and is also beneficial from a security
perspective as it means that the truck access
platform is never left unsupervised.”
Expanding on its High Performance range,
German manufacturer Ruthmann used Bauma
to debut the Steiger T 720 (72 m) working
height aerial work platform with a movable
jib.
The Steiger T 720 features a 38 m lateral
reach, 600 kg basket load capacity and
permissible inclination of up to two degrees.
The unit’s movable jib allows users 15.5 m
of extra boom length compared to truck-
mounted machines without a similar jib, said
Ruthmann’s media relation’s manager Gregor
Schlingschröder.
“We also have optimised the standard
telescoping and movable aluminum working
cage,” Schlingschröder said. “It can be
extended in width hydraulically from 2.42 to
3.82 m.”
The company also used Bauma to announce
forthcoming models. In August, Ruthmann
will debut the 38 m working height Steiger T
380. As well, in the third quarter of 2013, the
company will release a modified version of its
current Steiger T 720.
