more than250different datapoints. You
can seeoperational times,monitorC02
emissions, engine loads,warning lights,
and load-on-hook, just toname a few.
Most telematicsprograms only
storeyourdata for a short periodof
time, usually sixmonths of operation.
iCraneTraxwill store thedata for the
lifetimeof the crane. You canmonitor,
measure and comparedataover the lifeof
the crane. This enables you to track and
improve reliability to achievemaximum
profitability. Itwill allow theuser to track
the conditionof themachine andprovide
informationon and
whenmaintenance
needs tobeperformed.
What about
cost?
Link-Belt installs the
telematicshardware at
no cost toowners. Just
likeour regular cell
phoneplans, “standard
data-rate air-timeusage
rates apply.” Inother
words, the customerwill be charged for
the air time it takes tomove thedata from
the crane to the telematicsdashboard. The
“databurst”diagnostic featurewoulddrive
the air time costsup, but thiswouldbe
a small price topay compared to service
calls orwronglydiagnosed service calls.
Webelieve thisnew telematics tool is so
important thatwedidn’t add additional
costs forournew cranes tobe telematics-
equipped.We alsooffer our customers one
year of the light versionof iCraneTrax for
free inhopes theywill try the system and
understand its benefits.
