Among the challengingaspectsof
this jobwas the crane choreography for
removing theHRSGbundles from the
up-righting frame, Lampson said.
“Thedesignof theup-right framewas
such thatwhen itwas vertical therewere
three cranehooks andboom tipswithinan
8-foot radiusof each,making clearances
between the cranes and theup-right frame
minimal,” she said. “Additionally, the
project locationwas in closeproximity
toa largewind farmandas such, daily
wind speedsweremeasured.We took into
account specificwindowsof time inwhich
these liftswere able tobemade ina safe
and efficientmanner.”
TheLTL-850was ideal for theproject
because it fit into the small footprint,
makingother areasof the jobsite
accessible. It alsoprovidedplentyof
capacity to set all of theHRSGbundles
fromone location. Lampsonprovided all
lift planningand engineering.
“We appreciate theopportunity to
demonstrate theproficiencyof our
equipment andwe consider it aprivilege
tohaveworkedwithour customer,”
Lampson said.
S
ome jobs require the lifting
power of high capacity super
cranes. Suchwas the case at
aplant inNorthernOregonwhereheat
recovery steamgenerators (HRSGs)
needed tobeup-righted and installed.
For theproject, Lampson International
utilized itsLampsonTransi-Liftmodel

of public relations. “Eachbundlewas

heaviest bundleweighed452.9Kips and
the lightest bundleweighed219.0Kips.”
