PLANNING GUIDE
it is the smallest luffing jib crane on the
market providing crane operators with a
low cost entry point into the luffing jib
crane class. A completely new concept
for the superstructure drive unit has been
used on the LTM 1300-6.2. Instead of the
twin-engine concept normally used on
cranes in this class, this unit is powered by
a single engine with a mechanical shaft. A
mechanical shaft ensures high efficiency
and guarantees the economy of the new
concept in terms of fuel consumption, the
company said.
Terex Cranes
Terex Cranes has held its cards close to the
vest, being very secretive about the cranes
it will display at its booth. What we do
know is that the 650-ton capacity Superlift
3800 crawler will be exhibited in a larger
configuration than at Bauma last year.
While Terex has not revealed the
details of the new cranes at its booth, the
company said that “no less than two Terex
cranes will be making their debut.” The
new cranes will include a mid-size all-
terrain crane which specifically addresses
the needs of the North American market
and a “class-defining truck-mounted
crane,” the company said.
Link-Belt
There’s a slew of news to report about
the goings on at the Link-Belt booth. On
display will be some of the company’s most
popular models, as well as some all new
cranes, including a new all-terrain crane, a
new telecrawler and at least two other new
cranes.
All the all-terrain crane manufacturers
will be showing ATs at ConExpo, most
that are fairly new to the market or are
popular in the market. Among the most
exciting launches in this class will be at
the Link-Belt stand, where the company
will unveil its second all-terrain crane
built specifically for the North American
market, the 210-ton ATC-3210.
According to Rick Curnutte, product
manager for hydraulic truck and all-
terrain cranes, the ATC-3210 will meet the
toughest transport laws in North America
