A
fter big tradeshows likeConExpo, I generally reach
out to a few industryplayers toget their perspective
on the event.AfterConExpo2011, I received replies
that ranged from “prettygood” to just “okay.”At that point,
theU.S. economywas still reeling from thewoes of a serious
economicdownturn.Unemploymentwas high, getting financing
was difficult and construction startsweredown.
Fast forward threeyears and the replieswe’vebeen receiving
afterConExpo2014arewonderfullyoptimistic.Here’s a sampling:
“ConExpo2014wasoneof greatweather, outstanding exhibits
andpositive energy,” saidFrankBardonaro, president, sales and
businessdevelopment,MaximCraneWorks.
“Agreat success,” saidBillCarbeau, vicepresident, Linden
ComansaAmerica. “We experiencedover twice the activityof the
last show. Interestwashighand traffic seemed tohave a readiness
to talkabout purchasesor equipment purchaseplans.”
“I could sumupConExpo inoneword:Optimism.After years
of less-positiveoutlooks, visitors toourboothwereoptimistic
about the future,” saidWolfgangHerzog, vicepresident sales,
