Modular SMPTs for
bridgemove

Lift EngineeringMachinery
(GPEC), based inChina, used
four S2.34 self propelledmodular
transporters (SPMT) fromTianjie
to help finish the construction of
Asia’sHongKong-Zhuhai-Macau
Bridge.
The bridge is being built in
Zhongshan, Guangdong Province,
China, and as part of the project,
GPEC transported a steel bridge
sectionweighing some 1,650
tonnes andmeasuring 33.1metres
long and 4.5m high into position.
Each op the four sets of S2.43
SPMTs had one 390 kW power
pack unit, two 6-axle self propelled
modules and one 4-axle self
propelledmodule, a company
spokesperson said. In total 64 axles
were used.
Tomake sure the transport
remain stable, the four power
packs were connected and
controlled by one remote control,
a spokesperson added.

area in front of theOperaHouse

pedestrians.
The developmentwill
include anunderground
loading area, new entry routes,
and a sewerwith storage capacity
andoverflow for possible storm
tides, a company spokesperson
said.
The Sennebogen613was rented fromPreston group. It has capacity
of 16 tonnes and is fittedwith a 35kNwinch. Power comes from a
91kWDeutz diesel engine.The crane is being used tohelp construct the
foundations of the sub-construction.Tasks include lifting 3 tonne steel
reinforcement cages intoboredpile foundations, a spokesperson said, and
this has seen the unit fittedwith a drilling rig for the project.
Work is due for completion this year.
