ontreal-based Fraco has seen a
breakthroughwith construction
hoists inNorthAmerica, according to
Jacques Lainé, director ofmarketing for Fraco.
“In February 2012, Fraco delivered its first
SEHSeries construction elevators to the new
ResearchCentre of University ofMontreal Health
Center (RC-UMHC),” Lainé laments. “Thirty
months later, we can say that we have been
busy and continue to gradually promote new
products across all America.”
Breakthrough of theSEHSeries construction
hoists in theU.S.market began in early 2014,
Lainé says, when construction on amajor condo
development began. InMarch, Fraco completed
a double cabmodel which ismade of galvanized
and stainless steel andwas delivered to a large
rental company on theWest Coast.
With a length of 15 feet, 6 inches, the unit
is equippedwith a counterweight that allows
movement speeds over 300 feet perminute.
The unit has also beendesigned tomove along
Alimakmasts.
“This cooperation could result in a greater
presence of Fraco in theU.S.,” Lainé says.
Meanwhile, in its home country, Fraco saw
the delivery of SEHSeries units fromdealers
in thePrairies andMaritimes. The single-cabin
units had a lifting capacity of 6,000pounds and
a speed of 130 feet perminute. The units have
been installed on a24-story residential condo
tower and on another 12-story building.
However, Lainé says, “the highlight of the last
two years remains the delivery of sevenunits
to theConstructionSanté-Montréal consortium
which is responsible for the construction of the
UMHC.”
As part of thismega institutional project, all
units of theSEHSerieswere installed inside the
mainbuilding. The project started in July 2013,
and the deliveries of the unitswere completed in
November 2013.
Two units include standard features (capacity
anddimensions) of aSEH6000; four others offer
a broader floor, and the last one is distinguish
itself by its large size.
“In light of these achievements, it is clear
that Fraco has positioned itself quickly as one
of the suppliers of constructionhoists inNorth
America,” Lainé says. “Many other projects
are awaiting confirmation and interest for the
SEHSeriesmodels is undeniable. In addition,
we have entered some industrialmarketswith
theSELSeries industrial lifts. Our backlog also
includes a transport platform operatingwith a
rack andpinion system; a technology that Fraco
has integratedwith all types of elevators from its
alliancewith aSwedishpartner.”
