ACCESS, LIFT&HANDLERS
“We are building out the full line of
telehandlers,”Hislop says. “We have refined
everything for thismachine.”
Hislop says everything on themachine is sized
for the636 (versus using the buildings blocks
for a similar unit, such as the company’s 844) in
order to bring theweight down andgive rental
companies a better return on investment.
JCB
8947
JCBwill show a handful of its telehandlers at
the event. One suchuntil will be the compact
telehandler that the company showed as a
prototype at ConExpo. The compact 525-60
Hi-Viz telehandler features amaximum lift height
of 20 feet and a load capacity of 5,500pounds.
The525-60 is 5 feet, 10 incheswide and6 feet,
3 inches tall, allowing access tomulti-story
parking and operation in tight quarters. The
525-60Hi-Viz replaces the524-50, 527-55
and the520-50 rear-enginemodels, with a
modern side-enginemount design. This permits
a lowboompivot point formaximum stability
and increased visibility to the rear and across
the boom.
Poweredby a newTier 4 Final, 2.5-liter, JCB
Diesel by Kohler 4-cylinder engine, the525-
60delivers 74hp (55kW). Aswith other JCB
engines, there is no requirement for a diesel
particulate filter or anSCR system tomeet
the Tier 4 Final emissions regulations. This
means that the JCBmachine has a service-free
emissions control system, reducing operating
costs and complexity for customers.
A two-speedhydrostatic transmission offers
travel speeds of up to16mph. Equippedwith
an21gpmhydraulic pump, themachine
delivers auxiliary hydraulic power for a sideshift
attachment carriage. Customers can choose
between JCB’sQ-fit carriage or a universal
skid steer compatible attachment interface for
ultimate versatility and fleet acceptance.
All boom functions are controlledby a single
servo lever joystick, withproportional control of
the two-stage boom extension allowing smooth
operation and fine control for the operator. The
machine is availablewith a choice of canopy
or fully glazed cab, with the option of air
conditioning.
Serviceability is improvedwith the side-
mounted engine installation and, depending
on territory, themachine canbe suppliedwith
JCB’s LiveLink telematicmonitoring system
