familiarise themselveswith its newmachines.
The company also launched the 10m
workingheight IMP100 J verticalmast at
BaumaChina,which it said is likeHaulotte’s
Star 10.
According to the company it produced

inChina.TheMiddleEast is booming says
SusanXu,Mantall generalmanager,while
the overseasmarket is growing fastwith an
almost 50% increase in turnover last year,
amounting toRMB1billion.“People have
startedunderstanding thatAWPs are safer and
cheaper touse.Themarket is starting tomove
to the next level.”
The company had an interestingnewboom
on its stand.TheHTS220has a narrow
wheelbasewithoutriggers.The telescopic
machine has a 22mworkingheight,weighs
4.2 tonnes andhas a 230kgbasket capacity.
The idea being that it is lightweight, using the
outriggers for all stability requirements, and is
simple touse,with a lowprice.
Themanufacturer said there hadbeenplenty
of visitors to its stand fromAustralia,New

said there hadbeen very few fromEurope.
Runshare launched its 30mworkingheight
boom. It alsohas the biggest articulatedboom
tobe launchedby aChinese access equipment
manufacturer in its fleet, a 45mworkingheight
machine. Its largest telescopic boom is a 42m
model.Over the last two years the company has
alsoupdated its 11model scissor range, from
5m–11mworkingheight.
The company alsohas a new factory in
YeugongCity,Hunan, and inAugust last year
started introducingplatforms toEurope.They
include 16 scissors to theNetherlands,Turkey,
and theCzechRepublic – the latter being
itsmain customer. “It’s a goodbeginning in
Europe for us becauseEurope demands high
quality andwe are promotingour quality
better,”saysTonyaWen, salesmanager.
The company has had an active export
market in the past but has beenput under
pressure in some of its key areas. For example
inLatinAmerica; during2014 themajor
establishedmanufacturers started reducing
their prices andmakingfinance easier, saysMs
Wen.“So competition got stronger inLatin
America andpeople started choosingGenie
and JLGproducts insteadofChinese ones.”
Sinoboom launched its first truckmount
atBaumaChina.The 22mworkingheight

and safety training tooperators.Newdealers
will receive technical and commercial support
at the training centre too.“Our goal is for our
training courses to eventually become IPAF
certified,”saidMrAmendt,“Although this is
not yet the case.”
Most newpowered accessmarkets startwith
scissors andbooms, so the fact that products
like truckmounts, trailermounts andnow the
evenmore niche spiders are beingproduced in
China, is a sign that the sector ismaturing.
Goman, for example, launched the 53m
workingheightT53 spider at the show.
According toGomandirector ShuguangXia
there are only fourmanufacturers of spiders in
the country. Its full range consists ofmachines
from15mworkingheight up to53m.The
36m and43mhave articulated and straight
boom version.
MrXia says 25units have been sold so far
inChina. The company is four years old and it
is now ready to start exporting in earnest. So
farGomanhas sold seven small units to the
MiddleEast.
“The quality andperformance is now
satisfactory.Wewould like to explore the
Europeanmarketwith small spiders, around
18m and20m and trailers.”The company
alsomanufactures trailermounts from12m to
23mworkingheight.
Not yet at export stage isTengXin, a four-
year old company that is concentratingon the
Chinese scissor liftmarket. It hadnew10m
and12mworkingheight scissors on its stand.
“We are considering the exportmarket,”said
RogerHuang,TengXinproject director.“The
Chinesemarket is really at the beginning. We
think therewill be big growthover the next
two to three years.”
Part of the company’s growthwill come
through construction equipmentmajorXCMG
(see box story),whichMrHuang says has
signed a one-year contract to receive scissor
lifts fromTengXin thatwill be soldunder the
XCMGbrand.
The deal isworthRMB200million, saysMr
Huang.“The price is good and the quality is
good,”addsMrHuang.
